WATER QUALITY AND SOURCES
Longs Peak Water District is proud of the high quality water that we provide daily to our customers. Our raw water source is primarily Carter Lake. It is treated at two treatment facilities and blended within our distribution system. The Carter Lake Filter Plant located just below the south dam of Carter Lake is one of those facilities. From there, it is delivered to Longs Peak through transmission lines owned by Little Thompson Water District. We also treat water at the Kugel Plant located with our offices on Vermillion Road.
Our water treatment plant operations staff is educated, trained and motivated to operate our water treatment plant to optimize the plant performance for water quality. This same staff is also educated and trained to operate and maintain the distribution system piping to minimize unaccounted water, and provide optimal delivery to your tap.
